The Idea of a Man™ is where you get to discover and embrace your unique Idea of a Man, not mine or anyone else’s suggestion of what a man is or a man should be, but your conclusions about masculinity and how it wishes to express itself in your lived experience.
Here at The Idea of a Man™ we are passionate about men going on their ‘hero’s journey’ of self-discovery to ascertain what is true for them as distinct individuals. Our aim is that through the tools and content you’ll discover here you’ll get inspiration for your journey and find practical resources to aid in actually getting from the point ‘A’ of your existing location to the point ‘B’ of your desired destination.
Therefore, we have created The 12 Chambers to take you through the vital steps to discovering yourself, then establishing yourself in the marketplace of the world and in your relationships as well as covering Practical Spirituality to challenge us to subscribe to helpful philosophies that empower us and strengthen our relationship to ourselves and the world in which we live.
A huge motivation behind the work of The Idea of a Man™ is the awareness of the often lonely and in many ways confusing journey of a man’s life on earth in these tremulous times. The statistics of male suicide, homicide and genocide are harrowing, as are the statistical frequency with which men resort to addictive behaviours in order to medicate the pain of their lives. The belief here at The Idea of a Man™ is that there are solutions and answers which can really help, and that by practically demystifying the undecipherable and empowering us to realise our intrinsic resourcefulness and pointing us in the direction of more fulfilling and life enhancing possibilities The Idea of a Man™ can make an indentation into reducing the statistical probability of our gender replicating the statistics of the above mentioned.
By starting with discovering and embracing who we are and learning to love ourselves enough to invest into ourselves the time, energy and money to fulfil our unique Idea of a Man™, it is my belief that we’ll see more fulfilled men with a personal vision and sense of purpose who are passionate about returning the gift they’ve received themselves – The Permission to experience being themselves in the world to those within their world thus making the world a better place for all impacted by this work.
My name is Omar Zac Phillips and I’m the engine behind The Idea of a Man™. I’m on my own personal journey and I’ll be sharing from my personal catalogue of lived experience as it unfolds through my personal discovery of my unique Idea of a Man™.
